To rediscover the vision of our origins is always a fascinating experience. To retranscribe in a living language is what gives elaboration to the ardent word. But when this word is mixed with the resonances of distant speech, the result is a full conscience of our original being. This is what happens—fascinating when brought to the light of day—with the most recent book of Francisco Azuela’’.

The book is made up of two parts: “Mayares” and “Aztecales”, both marked by fire but in different manners. The first part is light, water at dawn, able architect of the day. The second part is a blaze, that leads to death. As such, the composition of the book shows the two extremities of daily evolution: the dawn, which drives toward the heights and the twilight, which carries us toward the night and the obscure.
