Camp Glendon is a bilingual day camp located at Bayview and Lawrence on the beautiful Glendon Campus of York University. Our programs are taught by bilingual university students who are passionate about languages, learning and fun. Our activities are play-based and customized to each child’s level of language proficiency. Programming is ideal for children and youth aged 5-15 who are learning French or English, with varying degrees of experience; instruction is given in French first, English second, to help build vocabulary quickly.
Camp functions within three age groups which are subject to flexibility dependant on registration each week.
Camp Glendon ages 5-8 & 9-12
Our goal at Camp Glendon is to expose children to a wide variety of high quality educational programming delivered in both French and English. Every day, children participate in exciting activities including theatre, arts and culture, aquatics sports and rec, leaders-in-training, and STEM. These activities are supported by learning tools such as worksheets that may emphasize vocabulary, grammar or subject-specific content. This ensures significant learning is retained and experiences are meaningful.
Leaders-in-Training ages 13-15
Campers registered for Leaders-in-Training will have the opportunity to participate in all of the exciting programming being offered to the campers at Camp Glendon, while learning integral leadership skills. Leaders-in-Training will aid counsellors in facilitating activities and working with younger children to complete programming, should the need arise. All graduates of the Leaders-in-Training program will receive a certificate at the end of the program.
