Ontario High School Students
You are an Ontario high-school student if you are currently attending a high school in Ontario on a full-time basis or have recently graduated.

International Baccalaureat (IB) Diploma
You are taking the International Baccalaureat Diploma.

Out of Province High School Students
You are an out of province high school student if you are currently attending or have recently graduated from a high school outside of Ontario but within Canada.

CÉGEP Students
You are a CÉGEP student if you are currently attending or have recently graduated from a Québec CÉGEP.

U.S. and International Students
You are an international student if you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or if you will be studying on a student authorization.

Mature Students
You may be considered for admission as a mature applicant if you are 21 or older, have been out of full-time high school studies for at least two years, have attempted less than a full year of academic studies at a college or university, and have the skills and experience to succeed at university.

Transfer Students
You are a university/college transfer student if you have attended a full year of college or university since high school (including York University), regardless of how long ago or where you studied.

Visiting Students
You are a visiting student if you already have a university degree and wish to take courses out of interest or if you are attending another university and want to take courses on a Letter of Permission.

Home-Schooled Students
You may be considered for admission as a home-schooled student if you have not studied in a formal academic high school environment.


Other Application Information
Those students who fall under the following categories must use the York University application, available online or hard-copy (PDF).

• A previous York student, OR
• Applying to a Certificate, OR
• A Visiting Student from another university, Or
• A Visiting Student already holding a degree, OR
• A Visiting Student fulfilling the requirements for a professional designation.
• Currently taking a York pre-University/"Bridging" course or YUELI course
