clubs promote many academic, cultural, and linguistic themes.
Do you have an idea for starting a new one? You have the opportunity
to get it off the ground! Watch for annual social traditions
like the Snowball Formal and the Winter Carnival too.
Pro Tem Pro Tem is Glendon's
student-run bilingual newspaper. By getting involved, you
can polish your writing skills and gain valuable experience
in the field of journalism. New writers are welcome! Photographers
too!
Glendon College Students'
Union (GCSU) The GCSU is our
student self-government. The GCSU coordinates and promotes student
participation in cultural, intellectual, and social activities
and students' interests in academic and administrative
matters.
United Nations Club
Modelling on the UN's
rules and regulations, the United Nations Club organizes debates and
participates in annual United Nations simulation conferences
in Montreal, New York City and Western Europe. Simulation exercises
on the European Parliament and the Organization of American
States are also on their agenda.
Dance Team
Love to dance? Then join one of the Dance Team groups. One team performs and the other team is for recreational dancers who just want to learn to dance and have a great time.
Musical Ensemble
The Glendon Musical Ensemble includes vocal and instrumental sections. It brings together Glendon students, faculty, alumni and friends who all share a passion for music. The Ensemble presents concerts and performances throughout the year.
Hispanic Club
Spanish and
non-Spanish students alike are welcome to join in the many cultural
events and activities organized by this very
active Hispanic
Club. Learn to Latin Dance, practice your
Spanish, and take part in the annual Festival of Spanish Language
and Culture.
Alpine Club
Love to ski or snowboard? Join the Alpine Club for great, inexpensive ski trips to local resorts,
to Quebec, and beyond. All levels are welcome.
International
Studies Students' Association (ISSA)
Entirely run by students, the
ISSA organizes conferences,
discussions with professors, pub nights, information sessions
on Masters programs and internships, and other activities
of interest to students in related fields. Their award-winning
International Studies Symposium, with high-profile guest
speakers, is the culmination of an annual study project
whose participants follow up with an on-location research
trip. Past projects explored Russia, India (both received
prestigious awards of excellence), as well as Brazil, the
European Union, China and others.
CKRG Radio Glendon
CKRG
is our student-run radio station. CKRG plays every style of music and a great choice of program themes. The station is always looking for new students for on and off-air work. You could be the next campus DJ!
Women's Centre
Open to all
students, male and female alike, this is a positive space with
friendly staff. The
Women's Centre has
a food bank for students and also offers seminars and reference
services.
