Learning French at Glendon
As Southern Ontario’s Centre of Excellence for French-language and Bilingual Postsecondary Education, our integrated bilingual liberal arts education is unique in Canada.
Our integrated approach to language learning, combined with our small campus size, means that you'll achieve a solid, working knowledge of French in two main ways:
Inside the classroom
Whether
taking French as a Second Language (FSL) courses or trying a discipline course taught in French (for example, “Introduction to Psychology” or “History of Canada”) and obtaining the credits required to certify your language credentials, you'll enhance the foundations of your French-language knowledge and get academic recognition for your efforts.
Outside of the classroom
Living and studying in in our close-knit bilingual community provides you with daily opportunities to practice your French with other French-speaking students (and for francophones to practice their English with you!)
Language learning outside of a degree program
Want to improve your French competency, but don’t need an extra credit? For this and other non-credit courses for a variety of languages and cultural experiences, the Glendon Extended Learning program is your answer.
