Campus Ambassador

This team is responsible for face-to-face interaction with prospective students; Campus Ambassadors are the students you see giving campus tours, assisting at our bi-annual open houses, and more. Campus Ambassador: Job Description and Application

Job Description

The Campus Ambassador will provide quality customer service to prospective students and their families through campus tours and during on-campus recruitment events and activities. The incumbent will also proactively position Glendon as a top university option in support of student recruitment, admissions and conversion activities when necessary. Other responsibilities will include performing various administrative tasks in the recruitment office.

Qualification

Applicant must be a bilingual full-time Glendon student and must be eligible for the Work/Study program. Any offers to successful candidates are considered tentative until he or she receives approval of their Work-Study eligibility through their Student Financial Profile application in the fall.

Skills and Specifications

  • Public relations and interpersonal communication skills, coupled with experience in oral presentations in English and in French;
  • Experience in providing customer service;
  • Knowledge of Glendon, its programs, services and admission requirements;
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Demonstrates a dynamic, positive and professional attitude;
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and problem-solving skills;
  • Available to work flexible hours during special events and activities such as open houses;

Campus Event Ambassador: Job Description and Application

Job Description

Under the leadership of the Senior Recruitment Officer and Welcome Centre Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Bilingual Campus Event Ambassador will support the goals of the Student Recruitment, Admissions and Applicant Relations office by helping showcase the campus in a positive light during major on- and off- campus recruitment event as well as provide quality customer service to prospective students and their families through campus tours. The incumbent will help in the planning process; will help with logistics, help with communications strategies, will monitor attendance, and help the Senior Recruitment Officer or Director with other tasks as required.  The incumbent will also be required to be present during major events to help assist in the running of events.

Other office responsibilities will include various special projects and performing administrative tasks as required by the recruitment team.

eAmbassador

Our team of eAmbassadors showcases and represents our campus to future students online through the use of multimedia, such as social media.

This team writes weekly student blogs and makes use of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to interact with our prospective students online. Depending on their interest and skill, some of our eAmbassadors will do campus photography, vlogging, and graphic design.

eAmbassador: Job Description and Application

Description

We’re looking for energetic, highly organized people who are able to make a positive contribution to Glendon’s presence on social media.

As an eAmbassador, you would be responsible for writing blog posts that showcase campus life (including student life as well as conferences and other events), academic programs, the university application process, and the transition from high school; tweeting daily; and, as part of a team, researching & contributing new ideas to showcase Glendon’s campus personality.

Based on individual talents, interests, and performance, other additional duties may be assigned. As a part of the larger Recruitment Ambassador Team, eAmbassadors are also required to assist with recruitment open house events.

Set yourself up on WordPress as an audition and show me what you’re capable of – just remember to include the URL of your blog portfolio in your cover letter. Extra-special consideration will be given anyone who has demonstrated an ability to publish great posts on a regular basis, so start your building your blogging portfolio early.

Duties

  • Attend two mandatory training sessions on Saturday September 13th & Sunday September 14th; attend monthly trainings throughout the year.
  • Compose weekly blog posts and daily tweets about student life at Glendon
  • Liaise with future Glendon students and their parents online and during on-campus recruitment events (including Fall Campus Day, March Break U, Expérience Glendon, the #GL2019 Facebook group, and via official blogs & Twitter accounts).
  • In addition to regular duties, one eAmbassador will be assigned to curate Glendon’s Tumblr account and one eAmbassador will be assigned to curate Glendon’s Instagram feed.
  • Other duties depend on individual talents and interests

Qualifications

  • A current Glendon student
  • Work/Study eligible; international students can be considered
  • Experience with blogging, video editing, writing, and/or photography
  • Excellent writing skills in English, French, or both; a demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely using a variety of voices and with a clear understanding of target audiences
  • Creative and innovative
  • Exceptional customer service & public relations skills
  • Ability to work well with a team and independently
  • Comfortable interacting with staff, faculty, current and future students
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Recommended

  • Video editing or blogging experience
  • Proficient with a video camera/DSLR
  • Prior knowledge of HTML/CSS an asset
  • Prior experience with elements of the Adobe Creative Suite an asset, including: Dreamweaver, Contribute, Lightroom, Photoshop, or Illustrator
  • Prior experience with iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or other video editing software an asset.
