Avie Bennett Award

Eligibility

• Entering first year of full-time studies
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
• Minimum admission average of 75%
• Resident of Brampton (Ontario)
• Demonstrated financial need
• Proven commitment to service and society
• This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another renewable entrance scholarship

Harry Arthurs Alumni Families Scholarship

Eligibility

• Child, grandchild or sibling of a York alumnus/alumna
• Minimum admission average of 90%
• Demonstrated record of participation, leadership or volunteerism
• Renewable

Recipients are not eligible for any renewable entrance scholarship

The Honderich Bursary

Eligibility

• Incoming high school students from James Cardinal McGuigan Secondary School, Emery Collegiate Institute, CW Jeffrey’s Secondary School and Westview Centennial Secondary School
• Includes a summer job at the Toronto Star at the end of the first year

This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another renewable entrance scholarship.

Chancellor Bennett Entrance Award for the Westview Partnership

Eligibility

• For students from Westview Centennial Secondary School, C.W. Jeffrey’s Collegiate Institute, Emery Collegiate Institute, James Cardinal McGuigan and North Albion Collegiate.
• Applying to direct entry undergraduate program
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person; Ontario resident and demonstrated financial need
• Demonstrate financial need
• Admission average of 75% or higher
• Contributions to school or community

York University Renewable Entrance Athletic Scholarship

Eligibility

• Entering first year of full-time studies
• Minimum admission average of 80% (or equivalent)

The Ethel Harris Entrance Scholarships at Glendon College

Eligibility

• High academic standing (minimum 85% average for AB & BC, minimum 80% for QC)
• Must be a student from Alberta, British Columbia or Quebec

Eligibility

York Entrance Bursary for Aboriginal Students

Eligibility

• Status and non-status undergraduate students of Aboriginal ancestry who demonstrate financial need.
• Must be Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons.
• Renewable for up to three extra years provided the student maintains a cumulative grade point average of 5.0 (C+)

Award for Aboriginal Students

Eligibility

• Available to students of Aboriginal ancestry with one award recipient selected from each of the Provincial Territorial Organizations in Ontario (currently Nishnabwe-Aski Nation, Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres, Anishinabek Nation, Union of Ontario Indians, Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians, Grand Council Treaty No. 3, Métis Nation of Ontario)
• Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need and who present a minimum admission average of 70 per cent
• Recipients of the award will be required to take part in a mentorship program

1980s Glendon Alumni Entrance Award

Eligibility

• Established by students who studied at or graduated from Glendon from 1980-1989 as part of Glendon’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
• For top students admitted to the Glendon Communications program.
• Will be awarded to one full-time undergraduate Bilingual Francophone student. Francophone students refers to students who have a particular knowledge of French as an Official Language and use of French at home, including people whose mother tongue
  may not be French or English.
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person; Ontario resident and demonstrated financial need
