Glendon Students Visual Arts Competition’s winners

 

Four prizes were awarded during the opening ceremony:

 First winner: Tiffany Fung for Sunlight Doesn't Clean Shit(Dirt and mud on towel, 2007).

Vice-président, Services aux étudiants de l’Université York  

Second winner: Lise Brisebois for Paysage - du réaliste à l'abstrait. (Acrylic on canvas, 2010).

Office of the Principal of Glendon College  

Third winner: Emmanuel Elkabas-Besnard for Corsica (Acrylic on canvas, 2010).

Office of the Associate Principal, Student Services, Glendon College  

Fourth winner: Melanie Lindayen for Veiled Exposure (Graphite on paper, 2010).

Exhibition: January 18 – 28, 2011

Glendon Students Visual Arts Competition

Opening Reception: January 18, 5:00 - 8:00pm

 

Toronto, January 6, 2011 – The Glendon Gallery is pleased to include the works of the students who participated in the Glendon Students Visual Arts Competition in its annual programming and thus offer more than twenty Glendon College students the opportunity to exhibit their works from

January 18-28, 2011.

  We will be presenting approximately fifty original and varied works – both in terms of the subject matter and the media used: acrylic and oil on canvas, watercolour, drawings, sketches, mixed media, and photography. 

  The opening for this exposition will take place on Tuesday January 18th, from 5:00-8:00pm.

Our special guests will be Rob Tiffin, Vice President Students York University; Kenneth McRoberts, Principal of Glendon College and Rosanna Furgiuele, Associate Principal, Student Services, Glendon College. 

Four prizes will be awarded during the opening ceremony:

  • The first prize is awarded by the Office of Vice President Students York University; The second prize is offered by The Office of the Principal of Glendon College; The third prize is offered by the Office of the Associate Principal, Student Services, Glendon College;
  • The fourth prize is offered by the Glendon College Student Union.

Nina Staer-Nathan, Nidhi Teli, Franziska Trilse, Gena Velcoff.

  We sincerely thank all the students who participated in the competition, the award presenters and the jury members who selected the winners.

  Our special thanks go to: Kimberley Judd, the Glendon Gallery Assistant, for her work in promoting and organizing this event; Yuki Yamamoto, who runs the Gallery’s website and Facebook site, and designed the invitation card and the poster; to Janny Le and Aninna Luli who are in charge of publicity and to Shirley Almagro in charge of the lighting of the exhibition.

We invite you to come to the Gallery to see and enjoy what inspires our students.

We look forward to your participation. Refreshments will be served.
