Anyone interested and ready to commit to the Ensemble who can sing in tune or play an instrument with reasonable proficiency is welcome as a musician. Joining is easy. If you fit the profile, the GME would be happy to count you as a member. In turn, you are guaranteed to find an outlet for your particular musical expression, and you will thoroughly enjoy yourself while you're at it.

If the actual act of performing music is not your thing but you are passionate about the arts and the process of putting together a show, the GME welcomes you too. We are constantly on the lookout for behind-the-scenes help in a wide range of areas: everything from stage management to set and lighting design; from running publicity campaigns to helping with IT needs; from arranging the music to printing to recording it.

GME members are all of different caliber. Some sight-read, some do not; some can sing or perform vocal or instrumental solos, some cannot. In spite of this, every effort is made to include everyone without compromising performance standards. Indeed, thanks to the support provided by the Office of the Vice-Principal (Student Services) and the dedication of Ensemble members, the quality of output has increased tremendously over the past few years. The secret of this success seems to lie with the Ensemble's approach: build on strengths, foster experimentation, provide support and encouragement, create sense of common purpose and treat people with respect.
