You can specialize in Hispanic Studies by "majoring" or "minoring" in the discipline. You can also combine Hispanic Studies with a major or minor in another academic discipline for an interesting double major or major-minor combination. If you do not wish to major or minor in the field, you can still take Spanish courses for interest as elective courses.
Combining your Hispanic Studies degree with the Certificate in Spanish-English Translation or the Certificado en traducción inglés-español is a great way to gain practical translation knowledge and graduate with a degree and certificate at the same time.
Before you register in Spanish courses, you must take the online Spanish Placement Test. This new test has been designed to help us assess your level of Spanish in order to place you in the most appropriate Spanish language course. More
The Department of Hispanic Studies has recently made a number of improvements to its program structure. To find an updated information about your specific program, please select the year in which you enrolled in the program, and then select your specific program.
