Why International Studies at Glendon?
- Glendon’s International Studies program was the first in Canada to grant a degree in this field. Our flagship program, International Studies attracts more than 20% of its students from outside Canada.
- Our multicultural and multilingual campus as well as our focus on languages makes Glendon an ideal setting for this program.
- We have dedicated professors who will work with you in small classes to provide an interdisciplinary approach to international studies.
- Our professors are internationally-renowned in their fields. Stanislav Kirschbaum specializes in diplomacy, security, and the politics of Central Europe; Elisabeth Abergel in globalization and international civil society; Christina Clark-Kazak in migration and international development, Alejandra Roncallo in international political economy and the Americas, and Sabine Dreher in culture and civil society.
- Our award-winning International Symposium offers you the chance to take part in an in-depth study of a country or region, organize an international conference, and visit the chosen country on a field study. This valuable experience is worth a full-course credit towards your degree. This year, students will study the two countries on the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic).
- The program includes a professional internship option of working in Canada or abroad, worth the same credit as a full-year course and writing a thesis.
- You can internationalize your studies further by participating in an international exchange program with a university abroad.
