Managed Computers

Description

Glendon ITS provides Managed Desktop and Laptops to provide a reliable experience to our users and to support the core activities of Glendon College.

Eligibility

Available to faculty and staff who have purchased an ITS recommended desktop or laptop computer, with University funds.  For all other computers, please consult our Hardware and Software support service description.

Policies

  •  Computer problems are to be reported to the helpdesk (see Support). Level 1 issues (ie. general software questions) will be addressed by the helpdesk, while Level 2 issues (ie. operating system failure) will be addressed by ITS operations.
  • PCs will be imaged with our staff image. This contains:
    •  Windows 7
    • Internet Explorer
    • Firefox
    • Java
    • Adobe Flash
    • Symantec Antivirus
    • Microsoft Office 2010
    • Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • Lotus Notes Client
    • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Client
  • Macs will be imaged with our staff image. This contains:
    • MacOSX (latest)
    • Firefox
    • Java
    • Adobe Flash
    • Symantec Antivirus
    • Microsoft Office 2013
    • Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • Lotus Notes Client

Cost

None.

Support

  • Personal (ie. non-work related) files should not be placed on network drives. Please save it elsewhere (C: drive or USB key).
  • Save your work to your network drive (X:).
  • You can also use a department share, where you can share documents with other people in your group (L:).
