Scholarships
Scholarships are “free money” given out by York, the Friends of Glendon, and other companies and organizations on the basis of outstanding academic achievement.
York University Renewable Entrance Scholarships are renewed in August for the upcoming Fall/Winter session to undergraduate students who have achieved an 8.0 average in the previous Summer and Fall/Winter sessions and completed at least 24 credits. The amount of the scholarship is the same as when the student began studies at York.
If you lose the scholarship one year (say you have a 7.9),
it cannot be regained.
York University Continuing Student Scholarships are distributed in August for the upcoming Fall/Winter session to undergraduate students who have achieved an 8.0 average in the previous Summer and Fall/Winter sessions. Students become eligible for this scholarship following the completion of their first 24 York credits. The amount of the scholarship varies according to number of credits completed and GPA. Students who receive a renewable entrance scholarship or award are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

Bursaries & the Student Financial Profile
Bursaries are “free money” given out by York, the Friends of Glendon, and other private donors. They are granted on the basis of student financial need, with some consideration given to academic progress. Some awards will have additional criteria which you can find on the individual award descriptions.
Bursaries are given out through the Student Financial Profile. To be considered for a bursary, you need to have applied for OSAP or your province’s government funding and to fill out the Student Financial Profile, usually online available in late-August or early September. To be considered for Fall bursaries, apply by October 15th. To be considered for Winter bursaries, apply by January 31st.
Friends of Glendon
The Friends of Glendon is a small not-for-profit organization that raises money for Glendon students. The Friends of Glendon gives away thousands of dollars ever year in the form of scholarships and bursaries, as well as emergency loans. When you fill out your Student Financial Profile, you will automatically be considered for bursaries offered by the Friends of Glendon.
