POLITICAL SCIENCE

Why Political Science at Glendon?

• Our professors are experts in their fields. Ian Roberge is a specialist in public policy and international political economics and is a Glendon graduate himself. Terry Heinrichs focuses on civil liberty and the law. Willem Maas’ research interests include citizenship and migration.

• Glendon is home to the Research Group in Public and International Affairs and Canada’s only bilingual School of Public and International Affairs. The school is home to Glendon’s Master’s in Public and International Affairs.

• Each year, high-profile political figures from a variety of political backgrounds visit Glendon to speak to students. Recent guests include former U.S. Defense Secretary William J. Perry, former Governor General of Canada Adrienne Clarkson, two former Prime Ministers, and a number of other federal and provincial officials.

• This year, Glendon welcomed its first Federal Public Servant-in-residence, Diane Morissette. Her wide-ranging tasks include building relationships, sharing talent and ideas, promoting research relevant to public service priorities, and providing first-hand information about careers in the public service.

• Political Science is available as a bilingual or trilingual international Bachelor of Arts. For more details, visit www.glendon.yorku.ca/iBA.

• Many students combine our degree in Political Science with the Certificate in Public Administration and Public Policy.
