JumpStart is a four-day summer program designed to help you start university on the right foot. Over the course of the week, you’ll discover some tips to adjust to the academic demands of university life, develop techniques for more effective study, and adapt to your new environment.

September 4, 2018.  Arrive at 12:45 PM for check-in, program starts at 1 PM.

Program ends at the Keele Campus at 8 PM (buses returning to Glendon for 9 PM).

Glendon Orientation Day a mandatory day that features the need-to-know information about student life, services and resources on campus and will get you even more excited to start your life as a Glendonite. You’ll meet your Lion’s Den Peer Mentor who will be a guide through your first year and get the ins-and-outs of your program from your professors. We’ll end the day at the Keele Campus for the official York University Welcome Ceremony!

*Registration begins at 12:45 PM, please arrive early!*

  • Yourself!
  • Excitement and a positive attitude
  • A bottle of water to keep you hydrated throughout the day
  • A pen and paper, tablet, or your preferred note-taking method
  • Snacks that you may need. A light dinner will be provided!

Join us for an information session on September 4th from 10AM to 12 PM. We will discuss how to register with accessibility services at Glendon, your rights and responsibilities and the resources that’s are available to you. You will also be able to meet with our Accessibility Peer Mentors, meet new students, all while having some refreshments

August 31, 2018. 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM. 

This orientation is designed specifically for both international and exchange students coming to Canada from abroad. Learn about the mandatory University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) (before deciding to purchase another medical insurance, check the medical coverage offered by UHIP at, international student services at the Glendon and Keele campuses, Canadian academic and socio-cultural norms, and various social and cultural events and activities the International Club has planned to help you discover all that Toronto has to offer. and the International Club. An optional outing downtown at the end of the day will also be offered to those that would like to discover Toronto and dine with their new friends!

September 1, 2018.  10 AM – 12 PM & 1 PM – 3 PM

Since parents, guardians, and family are an important support for students throughout their university careers, we offer this session to connect with them and answer their questions. Topics discussed include campus security, orientation, food services, student life, financial aid and OSAP. This session coincides with residence move-in day to allow as many parents as possible to participate.

This reception provides an opportunity for members and allies of Glendon’s strong LGBT community to mingle, learn about on-campus LGBT support programs and services, and hear coming-out stories from fellow Glendonites.

A week of drop-in social activities held during the second week of school (September 17 – 21) organized by the Glendon College Student Union (GCSU). For more information, keep an eye on the GCSU Facebook Page.

Orientation at Glendon takes place three times per year, for each intake: in September for the fall intake, in January for the winter intake, or in May for the summer intake.
