Join us on campus Saturday, September 23, when twenty or so of our most accomplished fellow graduates arrive on campus to discuss their perspectives on Canada and the world. The timing will be ideal so soon after nation’s 150th anniversary celebrations, when many of us felt our pride and sense accomplishment tempered by concerns over past injustices and future challenges. We have chosen speakers with a wide range of experience, and given them free rein to tackle the issues they consider most relevant and engaging. We expect to learn and share more details as the big day approaches. But, in the meantime, reserve a seat, gather your questions and imagine a pignata of ideas exploding. The generous and capable grads will include political and corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and environmentalists, diplomats and educators, commentators and social activists, a front-line opponent of gender-based discrimination and advocates for the homeless, the arts, democratic governance and ethnic diversity. Some may choose to mock, shock, chide and challenge, while others will set out strategies for economic growth, and divine the promise and pitfalls of the digital age. Prepare for a morning and afternoon of learning, with time for conversations, lunch, beverage breaks and a glass of wine.  Registration is now open.
