"Déterminer ton avenir !" is a forum that provides students in grades 10-12 with academic and future career opportunities to prepare for life by offering multiple learning pathways within their schools and university space. Topics include thinking about career options, reviewing essential skills for academic, personal and professional success (transferable skills), financial literacy, and the value of the French language in the workplace and in life in general.

"Déterminer ton avenir !" was designed by educational experts to support school boards in delivering classroom activities to help students negotiate the challenges they may face in their knowledge and skills related to learning, career and life planning, and to better help prepare them for their adult lives. Therefore, this program addresses the three main areas of the Ontario Learning, Career and Life Planning Program and is a complementary program to the Guidance and Career Education courses.

The Workshops

The objective of this workshop is to teach participants how to develop their transferable skills and learn about the workforce they will be entering. Through interactive activities they will leave with a better understanding of how to promote themselves, how to interview for a job, and how to apply their skills every day. They will also gain awareness of how they are developing their skills every day at school, at work and in their personal lives.
