Lyse Hébert détient un B.A. et une maîtrise en traduction du Collège universitaire Glendon, ainsi qu'un doctorat en sciences humaines de l'Univeristé York. Ses recherches portent sur la sociologie de la traduction et la conception de programmes d'études. Elle a exercé comme traductrice professionnelle et a exploité un cabinet de traduction pendant 20 ans.
