Principal’s Research Excellence Award (Contract Faculty) 2021: Sabine Dreher

Congratulations to Dr. Sabine Dreher on receiving the Principal’s award for research excellence for contract faculty.  Dr Sabine Dreher has her PhD from Bremen University in Germany.  She has taught at Glendon since 2007.

Over the last five years, Dr. Dreher has published a number of works, including her recent book, Religions in the Global Political Economy(Palgrave, 2020).  Here is a link to the book

She also co-edited with Peter J. Smith, Religious Activism in the Global Economy: Promoting, Reforming or Resisting Neoliberal Globalization? in 2016 with Rowman and Littlefield International.  This book received an honourable mention from the Religion and International Studies section within the International Studies Association.  Dr. Dreher’s work addresses the varied and complicated roles of religion in contemporary international politics, examining different groups such as fundamentalist Christians in the United States, Islamic feminists, and the Gülen Movement in Turkey.
