Lionheart Productions is excited to announce that Spring Awakening, the rock musical that took Broadway by storm, will be presented at Theatre Glendon from January 28th to the 31st.
The story follows a group of pubescent students navigating the anxieties of coming-of-age in a provincial world as their budding sexuality takes us from youthful lust to tragic consequences. The ground breaking play fuses morality, sexuality, rock and roll, and caused critics to exclaim that it awakened Broadway like no other musical. Set to contemporary music, the adaptation powerfully brings the piece into the 21st century.
Spring Awakening features music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater. Directed by student Gillian Murphy this is the third annual main-stage production from the student drama club Lion Heart Productions.
Each performance starts at 7pm
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for general admission.
