Indeed each of the nominees for the Theatre Glendon awards brought their own special gifts to the ‘dramatic’ activities of this year and we wish to commend each of them for their contribution to the program.

En tant que nominée …

Nous aimerions remercier  M. Christian Albarrán Bernal  pour sa curiosité intellectuelle et son professionnalisme, Ms. Lucie Colin pour sa joie infectieuse pour tout ce qui concerne le théâtre, Ms. Pascale Lachance, pour son habilité à rassembler les gens et à les inspirer lors des moments difficiles / or, as the English say, her ability to exhibit ‘grace under fire’.

We would also like to note the wide-ranging sparkles of creativity from Anna Ishahara, the artistic imagination and perseverance of Ms. Caitlyn Smith, the thoughtful and consistent passion of Ms. Rebecca Kazdan, the ever positive and pleasant presence of Ms. Rikki van Goozen and the myriad of artistic talents of Ms. Estella Williams.

and as they say at the Academy Awards, just being nominated is indeed the true sign of your character.

Congratulations to you all.

The Robert Wallace Award is given annually to a Glendon student who demonstrates a strong record of involvement in, and positive contribution to Theatre Glendon, while maintaining satisfactory progress in his/her studies.

This year’s award is presented to a young woman who has worked diligently and successfully in all of the classes she has taken. In these extra-curricular shows she rehearses and performs with enthusiasm, but she also inspires and teaches others to engage joyfully in performance through the many dances she has choreographed.  Her ability to marry academic success with a strong and propitious presence in the theatre is what gives me the joy of presenting the 2016-17 Robert Wallace Award to        Rikki van Goozen.

And she has taken her varied artistic talents and shared them broadly throughout our campus.  Whether acting on the stage, questioning speakers at conferences, lending her voice to a video, exhibiting her drawings, or exhaustively sewing, this year’s recipient has brought art into our community, and her community thanks her in return.
