GAC CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Dear GAC MEMBERS

As Toronto moves to Phase 3 this week York University and the GAC are reviewing Phase 3 details for athletic centres and facilities like the GAC.

With the health and safety of the community as York’s essential concern the GAC will remain closed at this time.

York U and the GAC remain committed to working on behalf of our students and all our members and will provide further updates and details as they become available.

We all look forward to the time when we can safely welcome all students and members of our community back to the Glendon Campus and the GAC. We will be guided by public health directives and the York U Path Forward plan.

While we look forward to re-opening the campuses in consultation with government and public health authorities, we are also contributing to efforts to bring down new cases of COVID-19 in the interim.

The City of Toronto has requested York U to continue our work from home arrangements until September at the earliest. York is joining U of T, Ryerson and a number of GTA community colleges, as well as other major employers across Toronto, to support the city’s request. Doing so also allows the University the necessary time to fully plan and introduce a phased and timely return to more regular operations when conditions allow us to do so.

In the meantime, the University, and our GAC staff, continue to operate remotely and are available to provide services and support.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we manage our way through these challenging times.
