Group of Glendon Students

First year students share a light moment as they gather for group work in a Glendon classroom. With a student population of 2,500 and an average class size of 20, students & professors can really get to know each other.

Glendon’s bilingual liberal arts education offers a unique experience to students from across Canada. Through Glendon, graduates of French immersion schools can strengthen their knowledge of French by daily contact with Francophones. Francophone students from Quebec can develop their knowledge of English, and come to know Anglophone Canada. Francophone students from Southern Ontario can receive university instruction in their first language. Yet, high tuition fees and the cost of living away from home prevent many outstanding students from taking advantage of this opportunity.

Glendon Students

Students are attracted to Glendon College from across Canada and beyond as a Centre of Excellence in the French language. Glendon is the only institution in Southern Ontario providing university education in French; all Glendon students study in both of Canada’s official languages.

With private and public support, Glendon plans to increase the number of new student awards and scholarships to help recruit and recognize students who excel academically and give back to their communities. Scholarships and awards are urgently required for undergraduate students, particularly those attending Glendon from other provinces, and to help top up fellowships awarded to talented graduate students already enrolled in such programs as the School of Public Affairs. Funding will also help students pursue valuable study exchange opportunities at Glendon’s partnership institutions in Quebec, western Canada, and around the world.
