International Human Rights Lawyer

“International Law and the Issue of Sovereignty over Jerusalem”

Jacques P. Gauthier, B.A. (1969) from Carleton University, LL.B. (1972) from the University of Ottawa, and Ph.D. (2007) from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, University of Geneva, is the principal and founder of Gauthier & Associates, an international law firm established in Toronto in 1984. He is the founder of the Canadian foundation Justice for Children and Youth. He received an award for dedicated service to the profession from the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario) in 1989. Dr. Gauthier has also acted as legal counsel to a number of states including Spain, Mexico and France, which made him a Chevalier de l‘Ordre du Mérite in 2000. He has served as Acting-Chair and Vice-Chair of the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development and led a human rights mission to China in November, 2009 on behalf of this organization.
