CIHR PROJECT GRANT: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Office of Research Services (ORS) and the Research Commons are coordinating a CIHR Information Session for faculty members who are in the process of or considering preparing an application to the upcoming CIHR Project Grant fall competition (exact date to be announced).  

 

This information session will be of interest to both first-time applicants, as well as those who are resubmitting applications. All eligible researchers are encouraged to attend this session. The session is intended to provide potential applicants with a general overview of the Project Grant Program, tips and techniques on how to write a successful application, and the peer review process and selection criteria. The speakers are experienced research officer, successful CIHR Project Grant applicant, and member of the Project Grant selection committee.

Dr. Jerusha Lederman 

Research Officer 

Office of the Dean, Faculty of Health 

 

Dr. Mark Bayfield will discuss tips and strategies for preparing a winning proposal by using his application as a sample. Dr. Rebecca Pillai Riddell will give an overview of the peer review process, provide insights on what a strong application looks like and common pitfalls to avoid.  Dr. Jerusha Lederman will provide an overview on the nuts and bolts of the application process and requirements.
