Thank you for your interest in supporting the Leadership for Global Challenges campaign which will help Glendon prepare the leaders of tomorrow.
If you would like to make a gift by cheque, please mail it to:
Office of Advancement, Alumni & External Relations

It’s really empowering, when we reach out to our supporters in the Glendon Campaign, to be able to show them that the Glendon Family itself believes strongly in its future and is showing its support by investing in that future. The Glendon Family Campaign relies on your involvement and appreciates your support.
Chair, Faculty and Staff
If you are a Glendon faculty or staff member wishing to donate through payroll deduction, please call 416-487-6824.
Members of the Faculty and Staff may make their gift to any specific Campaign priority. All contributions from every member of the Faculty and Staff are important.
Alumni & Relatives
If you are an American resident who has ever been enrolled as a student at Glendon, or if you have an immediate relative (spouse, parent or grandparent, sibling, child) who has ever been enrolled at Glendon, it’s easy to make a donation. Your cross-border gift to Glendon gets special tax treatment – you will receive a full tax deduction just as if you were making a gift to a U.S. charity.
If you want to make a gift to York as an American resident but don’t fall under the above categories, you can still make a donation – with tax advantages – through our sister organization, Friends of York University. Your gift goes to your preferred designated area and you receive a fully qualified charitable deduction. Donations may be made to:
Friends of York University, Inc.
c/o Roha & Flaherty
1725 I Street N. W., Suite 300
Washington, D.C. 20006-2423
att. T. Roha
501(c) (3) Registered Organization (US), EIN# 52-2066024
A gift transfer from your corporation or foundation to Glendon most likely does not require charitable tax treatment in order for you to achieve any net tax advantage. Your corporation or foundation may also choose to give a gift through Friends of York University at the above address. Glendon is registered as a Canadian Charitable Organization, business number 119306736 RR0001.
You may wish to celebrate the life or accomplishments of a friend or family member with a memorial or tribute gift. A donation in a loved one’s name is an inspiring way to remember a special moment or a special someone in perpetuity.
In memory, in honour and planned gifts to the Campaign for Leadership may be directed to any one of Glendon’s campaign priorities.
Make an In Memory Gift to:
- Judith Baker Memorial Award in Philosophy
- William Greaves Fund in Linguistic
- Daniel Simeoni Memorial Fund

Include Glendon in your estate planning and receive significant tax and financial benefits. Learn more about the different types of planned gifts by contacting Noël Chan at email@example.com or 416-487-6824.
A gift of stocks, securities, property or life insurance can offer valuable tax and financial benefits in the immediate term. Or you may consider a deferred gift like a bequest,
For more information about giving through stocks and other securities, visit alumniandfriends.yorku.ca/givestock.
A matching gift is an excellent way to increase the impact of your generosity. By doubling, tripling or even quadrupling your donation, you can further help us advance York’s interdisciplinary research and academic programs.
Corporate Matching Programs
Many companies offer a matching gift plan to encourage philanthropy among employees and their spouses. Find out if your company has a matching gift policy.
University and Government Matching Programs
Graduate Support Matching Program (GSMP)
The GSMP will match private donations of $50,000 or more. By matching both the initial gift and the annual distribution, the program quadruples the financial impact of an endowed fund to benefit graduate students in perpetuity.
Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS)
The province will triple your gift’s impact. A donation of $5,000 will name an OGS for one year and result in a $15,000 award. Permanent scholarships can be created with a minimum endowed gift of $100,000. Gifts of any size will contribute to the existing OGS Fund.
A gift in kind is a non-cash gift of tangible items such as books, artwork, equipment, real estate or manuscripts. Learn more about gift in kind by contacting Noël Chan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-487-6824.
