Last August 2020, Glendon’s Office of Student Affairs launched Project: Connections Glendon to provide opportunities for our students to connect with members of the Glendon community and practice their French (for FSL students) and English (for ESL students) through informal conversations, meeting by Zoom, throughout the year.

We extended the invitation to alumni on our Linked In group and a number have been participating in this excellent initiative.

« Talking with Joelle through the Project: Connections Glendon is a privilege!  I’m so grateful to know her, share our history and cultures, and hear what’s going on through her eyes as a student at Glendon.  Even some of my own French came back – I don’t get to practice much in Victoria!  The best part is when her 7- year old son Zoom-bombs us on our calls.  So much fun!  Thanks for the opportunity to connect in these challenging times. » Alison Smith (BA’98 Drama studies)

« Hello, am Bhavya Patel I am studying B.Sc. psychology am in my first year at the Glendon campus. I joined Glendon connection to improve my French speaking skills, I could read and write in French very well, but I could not pronounce all the word correctly. I heard about Glendon connection from Miss Usha Viswanathan in a virtual meeting. I have been having weekly meetings with Professor Michael K. Palamarek. He is very nice and polite he always corrects me in my pronunciation, he taught me new word and conjugations in French, because of him I now speak in French with correct pronunciation. I do not fear of being judged on my pronunciation. He always encourages me to speak and if am wrong he corrects me. » Bhavya Patel (First year B.Sc. Psychology)
