Professor Villagómez (b. Mexico City) received her Hon. B.A. in Literature from Universidad de las Américas-Puebla. Afterwards, she worked for the Institute for Life-Long Education for the State of Guanajuato (Mexico). She received her Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Toronto. Currently, she is revising a manuscript on the literature about the earthquake that hit Mexico City in 1985. She works as the Coordinator for the Latin American Studies Program at the University of Toronto.
