The bilingual University Learning Skills course is a joint programme of the Counselling and Disabilities Services and the Office of Student Services.  In this course, you work with instructors to construct a plan for academic success. The focus is on learning the academic skills necessary to excel at university.

The main objectives of this course are to help you:

  • Discover your academic strengths and weaknesses
  • Discover and enhance your motivation for learning
  • Develop effective study skills for academic success
  • Increase your self-confidence

  • Time management and anti-procrastination
  • Reading textbooks effectively
  • Critical thinking and critical reading
  • Effective note taking
  • How to write a successful paper
  • Public speaking/ class presentations
  • Preparing for exams
  • Stress management
