Government Financial Aid

Federal and Provincial Government Student Loan and Grant Programs

The federal and provincial governments provide financial assistance programs to help you cover the costs associated with attending university.

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

OSAP provides loans, grants, bursaries, and scholarships to qualified students. Your level of assistance is determined by considering your complete financial situation including parental income level, number of dependants in the family, your savings, educational costs, living costs, and any other resources available to you.

The OSAP application is available in early May; in order to have your funding ready for September, you must complete the online OSAP application and submit all necessary supporting documentation to Student Financial Services at Glendon by June 30.

Getting all of your OSAP information submitted accurately and on time is important; if your documentation is incomplete, letters are not signed, additional information is required, or significant income changes need to be reported, you’ll experience delays in receiving your funds until October or later and will have to pay late fees.

The Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries Application

Opening to future students in December, the Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries Application is an online application used to apply for a wide variety of scholarships and bursaries before you’ve even been admitted to Glendon. To access it, you’ll need your York student reference number. Haven’t been accepted yet? Don’t worry! You can fill out the Scholarship, Awards and Bursaries Application as soon as you apply to find out just how much funding we can offer you. Once you receive an offer, we’ll use that information to consider you for additional scholarships and bursaries.
